In the bustling suburb of Campsie, a new restaurant called “Anzzie Veggie” serves Vietnamese cuisine. When Regiment Workshop took on this “design and build” project in late 2025, the goal was clear: create a space as fresh and vibrant as the vegetarian cuisine on the menu.
A warm invitation inside
The journey begins at the entrance, where Regiment Workshop’s expertise in signage and branding integration takes center stage. The dark, recessed header pops out against the clean, neutral stone cladding which frames the entrance.
Precision counter joinery
Moving inside, the service counter acts as the structural anchor of the restaurant. Regiment Workshop installed a stylish brickwork facade for the counter base, providing a tactile, earthy contrast to the sleek stainless steel and glass display cases.
Bespoke timber joinery
The Regiment Workshop factory in Bankstown prides itself on custom joinery techniques and woodworking skill. Over the prep area, custom-built timber menu lightboxes were installed to contribute to the restaurant’s “home-grown” feeling. These aren’t just functional; they are architectural features. The light-toned wood contributes to the sense of height and airiness, ensuring that even this functional part of the shop contributes to the overall aesthetic.
Walls, floors, and foliage
To soften the space, we integrated vertical timber slatting (tambour panelling) along the lower walls, which adds rhythm and acoustic dampening.
The panelling pairs stylishly with the custom-built shelving units that showcase Anzzie Veggie’s retail products. High-level greenery and wicker pendant lighting were strategically placed to draw the eye upward. This lush, garden-like canopy feels miles away from busy Beamish Street outside, and contributes to the restaurant’s plant-based philosophy.
Comfortable seating for lasting impressions
A restaurant’s success often hinges on diners feeling at home and enjoying many dishes on the menu. Regiment Workshop curated a seating arrangement that maximises floor space without sacrificing comfort.
The combination of bentwood-style chairs and built-in forest green banquettes offers a variety of dining experiences. Customers at Anzzie Veggie can enjoy quick solo lunches at the window or longer, group dinners at the booths.
Every piece of furniture in this fitout was chosen for its durability and its ability to complement the natural color palette. The restaurant design nurtures a calm atmosphere, where the vegetarian menu can be fully appreciated.
Tierd lighting strategy
Lighting is the “silent partner” in interior design. Warm recessed spotlights provide general illumination, while the feature wicker basket pendants over the banquettes create intimate pools of light for diners. This layered approach ensures Anzzie Veggie looks just as vibrant during a bright lunch service as it does during a moody evening dinner.
From design to build
Completing a project like Anzzie Veggie required more than just construction; it required a vision that spanned from the initial floor plan to the final coat of varnish. By handling both the interior design and the fitout, Regiment Workshop ensured a seamless transition between the creative concept and the physical reality.
