Designed for the Year of the Wood Snake, Snakes on a Stroll brings a contemporary twist to tradition in Haymarket, Sydney. Adorned in red and gold, the snakes symbolize joy and prosperity, while neon lights pay tribute to the iconic glowing signs that have long defined Chinatown’s streets.

Crafted from wood, the sculpture reflects the natural element of the year, while its block-like design resonates with a generation familiar with Minecraft and Lego.

At its core, a baby snake perches on its father’s shoulders, mirroring families weaving through Lunar New Year crowds, celebrating together.
