Japanese restaurant in Gateway Circular Quay
Located within the family-friendly, 3-level dining precinct of the “Gateway” building in Circular Quay, YAYOI serves “Teishoku” cuisine. Regiment Workshop performed joinery and project management services in the lead-up to this authentic Japanese restaurant’s opening in December 2025.

YAYOI is a premium brand with a long-standing reputation in Sydney; there are multiple restaurants in the CBD as well as in Chatswood and Hurstville. Regiment Workshop ensured that its joinery services were executed to match the level of precision that YAYOI required.
Fit-out Co-ordination & Implementation
From an empty tenancy, the space was transformed into a refined dining environment. Durable, light-oak seating booths – which were fabricated in our factory in Bankstown – were installed. The kitchen service bar features under-bench LED lighting and a steel-framed liquor display.

Custom Lightbox Signage
Regiment Workshop provided a comprehensive signage service. The orange and white logo is mounted onto the exterior wall of the restaurant. It utilises 3D symbols with acrylic faces to produce a charismatic glow.
The name “YAYOI KEN” and the Japanese characters “やよい軒” are rendered in halo-lit channel lettering, providing a crisp contrast against the textured light-grey wall.
Inside the restaurant, lightbox signage is featured in two locations: the entrance and the rear. The signage at the rear is elevated on the window pane, facing Alfred Street outside.
Kitchen, dining floor, and external seating
The elegant aesthetics of YAYOI are reflected in every piece of joinery, from the external area to the seating compartments in the interior dining floor.
