Project overview
In 2025, Regiment Workshop transformed an empty shell tenancy in Chatswood Westfield into Young Travel Australia’s newest store.
Young Travel Australia is a well respected agency with stores in locations including Burwood, Eastwood, Hurstville, Market City (Sydney CBD) and University of Sydney.
In order for company agents to provide a bespoke travel planning service, Young Travel needed a functional yet inviting space. One where excitement about international holidays could be sparked.
Shopfront design
The façade features illuminated signage paired with a tiled roof canopy. The design of the canopy references traditional oriental architectural forms. Framed in textured stone and full-height glazing, the entry balances cultural character with a modern retail presence.
Interior fitout
Inside Young Travel Chatswood, a custom-built timber counter with integrated workstations allows multiple consultants to serve clients comfortably. Deep green cabinetry provides seamless storage, while open shelving with integrated lighting highlights brochures and travel models.
Wall fitout for Young Travel Chatswood
The rich emerald colour of the wall panels adds a feeling of luxury to a customer’s perception as they plan their holiday. The gentle contours symbolise the travel agency’s care and service. Regiment Workshop used concealed strip lighting to accentuate the smooth finish of the veneer.
Custom world map of possibilities
The large world map etched on the wall behind the counter ties into the travel theme, creating a branded and engaging backdrop. The desks are integrated into the counter design to ensure a seamless workflow for staff.
Shopfitting feature details
A timber-inlaid airplane motif reinforces Young Travel’s expertise, and is complemented by carefully layered lighting. Polished woodworking, joinery and integrated lighting create a professional yet welcoming atmosphere.
Fitout journey and coordination
From the phases of planning, construction, and fit-out through to the tenancy’s opening, Regiment Workshop co-ordinated effectively with the client and Chatswood Westfield’s management.
The result is a polished, functional space that strengthens Young Travel’s impressive portfolio of Sydney stores and most importantly, provides bespoke services for overseas travellers.
